Bryan Brothers Make 11th Straight Quarterfinal Appearance

Five-time Delray Beach Open by champions Bob and Mike Bryan will make their 13th appearance in the doubles main draw action this Friday. Also making their 11th straight quarterfinal appearance, the “Bryan Brothers” are looking to defend their 2019 title.

Getting underway at 11:00 a.m. in the opening day session match on stadium court, they will face Divij Sharan (IND) and Artem Sitak (NZL) for a spot in the semifinals. This will be the first meeting between the two teams with Sharan/Sitak defeating Goransson/Humbert in a deciding third set tiebreaker in their opening round match.

The Bryans, who are 27-7 all-time at the tournament, have reached a record seven finals in Delray Beach including title wins in 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2019.

The greatest doubles team of all-time on the ATP Tour, together the identical twins share 118 doubles titles, 16 Grand Slam titles, 39 ATP Masters 1000 events, five ATP Finals and an Olympic Gold Medal. In 2012-13, they became the only team in Open Era to hold all four Grand Slam titles at the same, doing so immediately after claiming that Olympic Gold in London. The Bryan Brothers also have the most victories by any doubles team in U.S. Davis Cup history with a 24-5 record and were members of the 2007 USA Davis Cup champion team.

Finishing No. 1 in team rankings 10 times during their career (2003, 2005-07, 2009-14), the Bryan Brothers boast a 1,102-358 match record, which is the most team wins in the Open Era.

On Tuesday night, the Bryan Brothers were thanked for the impact they’ve had on the tournament by receiving a key to the city of Delray Beach in a special ceremony.

This will be the Bryan Brothers’ final appearance in Delray Beach on the ATP Tour ahead of their retirement at this year’s US Open.
