Delray Beach, FL— A field bursting with more than 250 international junior tennis superstars will take over Delray Beach for the next eight days. It’s the 2014 Delray Beach ITFhosted by the City of Delray Beach presented for boys and girls 18-and-under. For the 2nd week in a row Player’s International Management (PIM) is hosting elite tennis in Delray Beach, Florida, one of the USTA’s “Top-10 Best Tennis Towns”, this time with players gathering from more than 30 countries.
“Players and families love coming to the events in Delray Beach. The City treats them like the stars that play our big pro event in February. There’s fun for everyone from the brothers and sisters to grandma and grandpa” says Ivan Baron, Tournament Director of this week’s ITF event. “I grew up playing tennis all over the world and I can tell you that no place provides a better experience than what these players and families enjoy here. The City, the local tennis fans, the local businesses, they all make the kids feel special.”
First up are the qualifying rounds for players who weren’t ranked high enough to get directly into the main event. Those matches will be played Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, at the Delray Swim & Tennis Club (2350 Jaeger Dr. 33444). Matches begin at 8:00am each day. Main draw matches begin Monday May 5 at Delray Swim & Tennis Club and continue until the Championship matches are completed next weekend, on Saturday May 10.
The weekend’s qualifying draw and schedule will be posted at 9:00pm tonight at http://yellowtennisball.com/delray-beach-itf/. Main draw matches and schedule will be posted on Sunday night at 9:00pm, also at http://yellowtennisball.com/delray-beach-itf/.
